Lying on its 4 ha, Clos La Rose is the second vineyard acquired by Mr. Carles in the municipality of St-Emilion in 1948. Historically, a “clos” was a plot of land surrounded by a low stone wall, allowing to trap the sun’s heat of the day. The “rose” symbolizes the first roses of spring located near each row of vines that are used to help the winegrower notice the presence of aphids and various diseases.
